Why Choose My Bridal Hair & Makeup Services?

As a bridal hair & makeup specialist, I understand how important it is to look your best on your wedding day. Wedding hair & makeup should be about enhancing a bride’s natural beauty & not masking it. Every bride is unique & has her own style & therefore a bride’s makeup should reflect that. I take the time to understand & listen to my brides & how they want their hair & makeup, whether that is a more traditional natural makeup, maybe something a little smokier or even a glamorous wedding makeup. Working with you as my bride to be, I will make suggestions on how to make the overall look work best for you. You will be able to relax, feeling confident that you will look & feel fantastic on your big day.

It is vital that your wedding day hair & makeup stays put all day long & having an experienced makeup artist will guarantee just that. Wedding makeup needs to look beautiful not only on camera but also to the naked eye. I use expert application techniques to create a flawless look that will leave you looking stunning both for your groom & in your photographs for years to come.

The Booking

I ask for a 50% booking fee of your chosen bridal package to fully secure your wedding date(s). This is non-refundable or non-transferable upon cancellation. This fee covers your bridal consultation & detailed trial, security of your wedding date(s) & administration. Details on how to pay the booking fee will be found on the quote I send over.

I use a whole range of products in my kit – also many vegan friendly brands. Skin care includes brands such as Embryolisse, Tropic & The Ordinary. My makeup kit includes prestige brands such as MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Kevyn Aucoin, Nars, Urban Decay, Tarte & many many more.

My hair kit includes brands such as BaByliss Pro & GHD. All my products have been hand-picked for their performance power & longevity. I will use different products depending on skin type, hair type & the kind of look you are wanting to achieve.

Only high quality & high performing products are in my kit to ensure your makeup is flawless on camera. All products are tested for performance prior to making it into my collection.

I highly believe that a bride should NOT share her hair & makeup artist with her bridal party i.e., mother of the bride, bridesmaids, maid of honour, sisters etc. My reason behind this would be that when a bride books me – I am there to pamper her, deliver an amazing experience, give the bride my full attention, be there for her during this nervous / joyful time. Not jumping from client to client like a conveyer belt getting everyone’s hair & makeup completed so everyone’s ready on time. I work with the confidence of QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.
YES YES YES… Once you have paid your booking fee for your required date(s), that date(s) is yours & only yours. I do not believe in taking on multiple bridal bookings in one day. Even if my service to you is completed by 10.00am for example, no other bookings will take place for the remainder of the day… WHY? You may ask! Well imagine we have confirmed your timings 6 months in advance but 6 weeks before your wedding day, timings change i.e. originally you needed to be ready for 9.00am but we have changes & you now need to be ready for 11.00am – as the day is yours, I am able to accommodate any changes small or large without having affecting another bride. Remember, I am here to pamper you! Take away stress! Deliver an amazing service for you to remember for years to come.

The Bridal Trial

Trials are important to try out the kind of look you want & make sure that you feel comfortable with what you’ve chosen & make sure it’s the right look for you.

I often have brides show me pictures of hair & makeup looks they want but when they see the look recreated on their own hair or face, decide it’s not the right choice for them. It allows the bride & I to discuss the look & adjust & tweaks so that they are completely happy. It also gives me a chance to get to know your hair & skin type & know how best to achieve the look you’re going for. Trials also give me a chance to get to know a bride. Hair & makeup styles can be a very personal thing & I like to ensure a bride feels like herself.

Brides can also check to see how their skin or hair reacts with the products I have used & give them chance to give me any feedback so I can again ensure a bride is completely happy on her wedding day. I also record how I have created a look & what products have been used so I can replicate the look on the wedding morning. I understand stress & nerve levels can be high on the morning of a wedding & I like to ensure my brides can completely trust that they are in safe hands & will love the look I create for them so it’s one less thing to worry about.

It is completely up to you how far in advance you book your trial with me. Some brides like to have an earlier trial so they can feel at ease knowing it’s something ticked off the to-do list! And others prefer to wait till nearer the wedding date as it’s something to look forward to or they know they will have a better idea of the look they want once they have organised other aspects of the wedding. The date of the trial could also depend on factors such as if you wanted to grow your hair for the big day. I usually recommend that the trial is booked around 8 – 10 weeks before the day of your wedding. I will do my best to work around your schedule, but understandably my weekends are busy with weddings, & I therefore mostly keep trial bookings to Monday – Thursday, but if weekends are preferred due to unable to get time off during the week, I will do my best to accommodate your trial on a Saturday or Sunday. I also advise that your wedding hair & makeup trial is carried out during daylight hours – this way you can get a clear view of what your hair & makeup will look like on the wedding day. It also gives you a chance to see the longevity of the hair & makeup and enable you to give me any feedback so if needed things can be tweaked on the wedding day.
Trials take place at my studio/academy in Leicester (LE3 0GA). I like to invite my brides into my hair & makeup heaven as it allows me to take you away from your day to day routine & deliver a beautiful experience & the start of your pampering in my hands.
Once you have secured your booking with me, I will send you over a list of tips & homework on how to make the most of your bridal trial. You will be able to give these a read through to provide you with some useful tips to think about & you can let me know anything you think I may find helpful.
At your wedding hair & makeup trial, I will assess your hair & skin type & decide on the best skincare, makeup, & hair products for you. We will talk through & discuss the kind of look you are hoping to have. I usually ask for my brides to send me images of their hair & makeup inspiration prior to the trial. I find having visual aids makes it easier to discuss different elements of the look & shows more clearly the kind of thing you like. At the trial, if I think something will not work, I will discuss my thoughts about this, giving suggestions on what I think will work better and why. I will use all the information we have discussed to create hair & makeup looks that emulate the kind of looks we have discussed, & you have shown me but also compliment your features & enhance your natural beauty. Once you have decided on your final look & are completely happy with everything, I will then record all the products used, take photographs (you will get copies of the pictures), & make notes so that your bespoke wedding hair & makeup look can be replicated with ease on the day of your wedding.
Each trial is different, but you should allow around 2-3 hours for a hair & makeup trial. I will work with you, fine tuning the hair & makeup until you are completely happy with your overall look.
Of course! In fact, this is something I recommend to my brides. Having a friend or family member at your trial can help you choose the right look for you. It’s helpful having someone there who knows you to offer their opinion about what suits you. It can also make the trial more fun & enjoyable for you, which is exactly what the trial experience should be!
