BRIDAL: 5 Trends Asian Brides Will Love In 2022

It’s almost time for a new year, and with the last couple being full of uncertainties and restrictions, everyone is hoping for a fresh start and a bright future for this one. The new year marks the beginning of a whole 365 days of new trends, and I’ve been keeping my ear to the ground in terms of what my Asian brides can expect in terms of wedding trends in the beauty space and beyond for 2022.

Here are the top five I’ve spotted so far…

Scaled-up Looks

Asian brides aren’t often known for their subtle wedding looks, but with two years of restrictions under our belts, 2022 is the year for stepping things up a notch. We expect brides to be dialed-up to the max. Any minimalism from the last couple of years will make way for opulent bridal looks, and I can’t wait to see big weddings back on the menu!

Pinks, Peaches and Emerald Greens

These colours are IN for 2022. Expect to see them across weddings in decor and clothing, but equally as much in bridal makeup looks. Products such as this Fenty Beauty palette in Peach will add a wash of beautiful peach colour across eyelids, while Cheek to Chic by Charlotte Tilbury will add a healthy glow to your bridal look.

Boho Elements

The lockdowns last year meant that weddings were more relaxed and rustic, boho elements crept into Asian weddings. We will see this trend continue into 2022, with more and more brides opting for this rustic, easy look. See this trend in hair via pulled-apart braids with tousled pieces around the face, and lots of greenery in wedding decor.

Red Lips

A classic, and it’s coming back. A pull away from what’s ‘normal’ in our everyday lives has brides wanting to cling on to the traditional. What better way to do this than with a red lip? Achieve this look with Love Bite from Charlotte Tilbury for a glossy smile, or try Ruby Woo by MAC for a more matte iteration of this Hollywood style classic.

Lace and Pearl

I’m seeing a lot more lace and pearl lehengas – or even a combination of the two for Asian brides. It looks super amazing; I just love how innovative and creative designers are getting with them and how brides are making this trend work for them. Can’t wait to see this trend in 2022!

I’d love to know if you have heard of any upcoming trends for Asian weddings and would like to incorporate them into your big day? I’d love to hear from you.
